Start your trip by getting to know the history of Monaco, by exploring the middle of this city that is called Monaco-Ville. Although, the truth behind the name is that it used to be known as Monoikos which the name was inspired by the temple of Hercules Monoikos. During the middle ages, it was passed down (hence why the name has changed) and has still sustained the style of a Medieval village, with a few ancient walls still remaining.

Why not visit the royal roots of Monaco-Ville? In the heart of the city lies the grand fortress and inside lives the current Prince of Monaco. Outisde the Palais Princier, there is a small and interesting interval every morning at 11.55am where the guards dressed in different colours change, as they take turns to guard. You can also visit Saint Nicholas Cathedral and Chapelle de la Miscericorde, which is the oldest building that is still standing in the village. Explore the St. Martin Gardens, which leads you on to a path to the south west face of the Rock of Monaco.

Have a taste of the glamorous side of Monaco and visit the French Riviera. This stunning coastline has a lot to offer; from sailing around different coasts and finding yourself sunbathing on a yacht in St. Tropez, to travelling to Cannes and attending their exclusive Cannes Film Festival. Take a day trip to the open-air city Nice, which is known for its artsy sidewalk cafes, bustling streets, museums and their incredible bistros. You must visit the Promenade des Anglais when in Nice, as it a true experience when cycling or walking around this area.

Make the most of the sophisticated night life that Monaco is known for. Start your evening by fine dining at Le Grill. The spectacular menu has Mediterranean influences and a breath taking view of the French Riviera at night. In the summer, the roof slides back to reveal the gorgeous night sky, creating a romantic ambience. Carry on your night by sipping champagne at the Monte Carlo Casino, which is always a hot spot and was used to film James Bond movies.
