Venice is known to be the city built on water and with romance in the air. Whether you’re a solo traveller that wants to explore, or a couple that wants a getaway, you will instantly fall in love with the city.

Begin your trip by getting to know Venice fully; take a boat ride in their beautifully crafted gondolas and make way through their canals around the city. You will have the chance to admire the beautiful architecture that Venice has, as the colourful buildings are lined up alongside with each other on both sides of the canal. However, the oldest bridge that stands till this day will definitely catch your attention. Rialto Bridge can be found on the Grand Canal and has a significance of being the dividing line for the districts of San Polo and San Marco.

Once you have been able to see the beauty of Venice on a boat ride, you will then have the opportunity to experience the city all together in one place at Piazza San Marco. Napoleon once referred it as the ‘drawing room of Europe’ as it is the heart and iconic square in Venice where everyone gathers. With St. Mark’s church standing greatly on one side of the square, the Campanile bell tower standing tall in the centre, overlooking the city and the historic Byzantium Doge’s Palace being linked to the square, there’s no wonder why Piazza San Marco is known for having history, culture and political significance all in one place.

Once you’ve finished exploring the city, stop by the oldest coffee house Caffe Florian. It is located in Piazza San Marco and was established in 1720. It is famously known for their modern art along with their iconic 1700s style, live music and of course, their delicious range of Italian coffee. So sit back, relax and enjoy your beverage with an astounding view of the square.
